Most people will be acquainted with Franz Lehar’s Viennese operetta, “The Merry Widow”. Less well known, but no less full of wonderful music and story line is his “The Land of Smiles”. Even if you haven’t seen this before, you are probably familiar with “You are my Heart’s Delight”, made popular by the great Richard Tauber. East meets West in a moving love story – drama, romance, comedy. The moving love story of the Viennese girl and the Chinese Prince has a bitter-sweet ending that truly touches the heart.
